Why to Always Keep Hemp Hearts in the House – And a Hemp Mylk Recipe!

This blog post was sponsored by Eaton Hemp

I’m so excited to be sharing with you 3 reasons as to why I personally ALWAYS keep hemp hearts in the house (specifically Eaton Hemp Hearts) – and recommend you do the same as well!

I’m also sharing the BEST recipe ever for homemade hemp mylk. It’s so easy, creamy, and delicious – you won’t believe how simple it is to make!

Not to mention, it’s a WAY better alternative to most store bought mylks that are loaded with binders, additives, preservatives, and other poor quality ingredients.

I can’t wait for you to discover all the goodness of hemp hearts if you don’t already know!

Why I Always Keep Hemp Hearts in the House

They truly are SO nutritious!

You can read all about their benefits here.

But as a quick recap, hemp hearts are so incredibly nutritious as they are loaded with proteins (in fact they’re one of the few plant based foods that are a complete protein), healthy fats (including the ever so important Omega 3 Fatty Acids), trace minerals such as zinc, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, B vitamins, and iron – and so many more!

They’re also loaded with anti oxidants such as Vitamin E to help fight free radicals in the body!

They are the BEST topper for your meals – and baked goods!

I personally love sprinkling hemp hearts on just about anything! I especially love them on my baked goods as they seem to create the perfect texture on top (and can even help avoid muffins/ loaves from getting too crisp on top).

I also love topping my salads or nourish bowls with them. I find they provide the perfect something ‘extra’ to add some excitement (and nutritional goodness) to your meals!

You can make hemp mylk from them!

I don’t know about you, but I find we are constantly running out of cartons of store bought nut milk in our house!
It’s hard to keep up!

Not only this, but most store bought dairy free mylks aren’t exactly loaded with nutrition. A lot of them have binders, gums, additives, and preservatives that can be really hard on your gut. That’s why it’s always so helpful to have a stock of hemp hearts in the house to make your own mylk from! It takes nearly no time at all – and tastes just so fresh & real!

Hemp Mylk Recipe

Ingredients:

– 1/3 cup Eaton hemp hearts (Use MEG20 for 20% off your order!)
– 4 cups filtered water
– Pinch of sea salt
– Optional: honey or maple syrup to taste * see note

* NOTE: I typically perfect to leave out the sweetener and then add it in as desired (like for example if I’m making a yummy elixir drink).

To Make:

– Place all ingredients into a high speed blender. Preferably a Vitamix. Blend on high until it’s super smooth and creamy. I typically blend for 2 full minutes in my Vitamix to reach this texture.
– Once finished, place in a glass jar or container, and store in the fridge. Keeps for up to 5 days. Best enjoyed in the first 1-3 days, so I recommend making smaller batches more frequently.
