This is such a great bowl if you’re in the mood for chocolate for breakfast or you have a craving for ice cream for dessert. I think it tastes great any time of year as the yam makes it heart-ier for colder months but the blueberries make it lighter and sweeter for a summer time treat. If you do decide to eat it in the winter ensure you are using local frozen blueberries (not “fresh” store bought ones which are likely grown somewhere in South America).

Ingredients
– 1/2 cup steamed Japanese sweet potato (the white ones), although yam would work fine too
– 1 heaping Tbsp. raw cacao powder
– 1 ripe banana
– 1 scoop “Botanica” vanilla protein powder
– 1 cup almond milk
– 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
Instructions
Place in blender or Vitamix and mix until smooth and creamy. Feel free to add a bit of water or extra almond milk if you want it thinner. Enjoy!
